You were sure that you would get the loan that you applied for, but to your surprise, a bank turned it down. The bank considered you “sub prime” and explained to you that you have bad credit. Sub prime means that you have a credit score of less than 620 on the FICO rating scale. This doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t apply for loans. There are many companies who specialize in lending to sub primers.
Get rid of your bad credit in two months by following these steps:
Check Your Credit Report
Check your credit report for wrong information. There is oftentimes incorrect information entered on your report. If you do find errors, write to the credit company stating the errors and the corrective action for it.
Request Your Credit Scores
Request your credit scores from the big 3: Trans Union, Experian and Equifax. You will then know your credit score well and be able to devise measures to make it better.
Pay Off Loans
Pay off your loans. Control the urge to borrow even small amounts. Even $20 loans add up quickly.
Pay With Cash
Use cash to make purchases. This will help you decrease credit card debts. When you do have to use a credit card, use only one. Many credit cards charge annual fees in addition to high interest rate. If you can wait on a purchase, that delayed gratification will allow you to have bigger purchasing power in the long run.
Whatever you do, don’t take cash out against your credit cards. The rate of interest on cash loans is very steep. In fact, it is absolute best practice to pay off your credit card debt each month. If you know you won’t have money to pay off a purchase you’re going to make on your credit card, don’t make the purchase. Otherwise, you’re going to pay interest on interest!
Make a budget for all your expenses, and then weigh it against your income. If your expenses are more than your income, cut back on the expenses. If you don’t, you are on your way to financial difficulties. Stick tight to these techniques in order to eliminate the habits of bad credit in two months.
